Like so many others, I grew up with dogs. In my case, my first dog was a poodle and then Briards followed and finally, at the age of 20, I realized my big dream of an English bulldog. In 1999 I finally decided to expand my hobby and started (after many visits to exhibitions, veterinary examinations,...) to breed on a small scale.

The breeding of this breed involved a lot of complications and an incredible amount of effort, and since we have had our second child in the meantime, my free time has of course also become scarcer. Since dog breeding is not just a hobby for me, but a great passion, it was out of the question for me to stop, but I had to reorient myself.

I am a big Molosser lover, but unfortunately there were already many breeds in Germany on the "fighting dog list" and breeding was therefore associated with many difficulties, so that was out of the question.

What now? One day I came across an old picture of my poodle from my childhood and I remembered how amazing this dog was and how incredibly intelligent it was. breed poodles? NO! If I only thought about having to attend shows with a poodle again, where the FCI regulations dictate how clipped they have to be in order to be shown - no thanks! I want a dog that looks like a dog and not like an accessory that's stuck in the socket. Then I remembered that during my visit to the USA in 1995 I was introduced to this wonderful breed called "Goldendoodle" by a breeder. They reminded me of my beloved Briards in appearance, but they were so incredibly intelligent. And when I then found out that they hardly shed their fur or not at all, I was thrilled.

So, now the decision was made, it will be Goldendoodles, but how do I do that? I've scoured the entire internet and I couldn't find a single dog in Germany, let alone several that could be used to breed. Do I have to import dogs from America again? I already knew that from my bulldogs.

Okay, I already knew a lot about this breed from the American breeder, but that was a few good years ago, so I use the time to read the English pages even more deeply - fortunately! Because now I have learned that only the F1 (i.e. the first) generation is the healthiest and mentally most stable. (I will not go into the disadvantages of the following generations here, since I only breed the F1.).

So our first Golden Retriever bitch "Dana" moved in and a Standard Poodle male named "Aristokrat". And with these two, our Goldendoodle breeding started more than 12 years ago. And it was the best decision of my life as Goldendoodle puppies really are the most fascinating I have ever encountered.
